This study evaluates the efficacy, safety, and socio-economic impact of Totally Extraperitoneal Sublay Repair (TES) versus Laparoscopic Intraperitoneal Onlay Mesh Repair (IPOM) for small to medium-sized ventral hernias, with a particular focus on postoperative quality of life and patient satisfaction. A retrospective cohort study was conducted, encompassing 125 patients who underwent ventral hernia repair between May 2018 and November 2023.

We report the results at 48 months post-surgery regarding open ventral hernia repair (OVHR), analyzing the recurrence rate and incidence of chronic pain. To optimize the efficacy of analgesia for patients receiving laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair, peri-operative pain neuroscience education (PNE) as a pain-specific cognitive therapy was incorporated into multi-modal analgesia. A randomized controlled trial was conducted to compare conventional analgesia (group CA) and the addition of pain neuroscience education into it (group PNE) in patients receiving laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair. Characteristics of peri-operative pain was evaluated with Douleur Neuropathique 4 questionnaire (DN-4), central sensitization inventory (CSI), pain catastrophizing scale (PCS) post-operatively and pressure pain threshold.

Objective: To investigate the short-term effectiveness of uni-portal non-coaxial spinal endoscopic surgery (UNSES) via crossing midline approach (CMA) in the treatment of free lumbar disc herniation (FLDH).
Methods: Between March 2024 and June 2024, 16 patients with FLDH were admitted and treated with UNSES via CMA. There were 9 males and 7 females with an average age of 55.
