The use of intravenous lipid emulsion (ILE) is thought to reverse the acute neurological and cardiac toxicities generated by local anesthetic and non-anesthetic drugs. The aim of this review is to provide an updated overview of ILE therapy in the management of the toxic efects of medications on humans. Indications, mechanisms of action, monitoring, dosing, lipid formulations, adverse efects, and contraindications related to ILE are highlighted.

Natural lutein is liposoluble and has powerful antioxidant activity, which can be self-aggregated to form H-type aggregates in organic-water systems. However,its application is limited by poor solubility and high instability. Here, whey proteins/chitosan-coated H-type aggregates lutein nanoparticles (NPs) were fabricated via a bottom-up layer-by-layer self-assembly technique.

Background: Mare milk has often been considered a food product with potential functional properties. However, the bioactive compound composition of mare milk, including vitamins and other minor bioactive compounds, as well as factors affecting this composition have scarcely been studied. Therefore, the present study aimed to characterize the changes during lactation in the content of water- and fat-soluble vitamins and total polyphenols, and the total antioxidant capacity of mare milk from semi-extensive farms.

Pheretima is a popular healthy food, but Pheretima and related foods have specific stenchy odor, especially after decocting or warm soaking, the odor is intense, resulting in nausea and vomiting. This indicates that the release of stenchy odor components is intensified when Pheretima was exposed to hot water. It is urgent to study the composition and release pattern of the stenchy odor components of Pheretima.
