The impact of the nature of the Group 15 element on both the bonding situation and the reactivity of gold(I)-C ≡ E (E = N to Bi) complexes has been studied quantum chemically within the density theory functional framework. For this purpose, the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction involving BuN as dipole has been selected and its main features, including the regioselectivity of the transformation and the in-plane aromaticity of the corresponding transition structures, have been investigated. It is found that the reactivity of the complexes is increased as one moves down Group 15 (N ≪ < As < Sb < Bi).

Fluorescent insulin is commonly used for a range of detection and imaging purposes. Achieving site-selective insulin labeling affords superior labeling yield while retaining its biological activity. Insulin labeling is usually achieved using commercial kits with minimal emphasis on the site and degree of labeling.

ConspectusAmines are frequent structural components in natural products, pharmaceuticals, ligands, and catalysts, making their synthesis and transformation essential to organic chemistry. While C-N bond formation has become a well-established and reliable synthetic strategy, the selective cleavage of C-N bonds remains relatively underexplored. This challenge arises from the low heterolytic nucleofugality of nitrogen, a property that limits the practical application of C-N bond cleavage.

Periodically grafted amphiphilic polymers (PGAPs) belong to an interesting class of amphiphilic polymers that carry long hydrophobic alkylene segments along the backbone and periodically located hydrophilic pendant segments, such as polyethylene glycol monomethyl ether (MPEG). In earlier studies, we showed that such PGAPs undergo zigzag folding to segregate the backbone alkylene segments and the pendant MPEG segments; consequently, they organize in the solid state to yield a lamellar morphology with precisely tunable domain sizes. In the present study, two new periodically clickable polyesters were prepared; one bearing dodecyl (C12) segments between adjacent clickable propargyl units and the other carrying longer eicosyl (C20) segments.

Aging behavior of pyrotechnic agents is a serious threat to the reliability of the practical application of pyrotechnic products, while multiple environmental factors make it challenging to characterize the aging mechanism of pyrotechnic agents. This paper explored the aging process of LA in four hygrothermal environments with morphology and structure analysis techniques. LA aging underwent three stages: rapid surface reaction with HO and CO, interior hydrolysis by HO, and CO reaction with lead oxides.
