FtsZ is a bacterial protein that plays a crucial role in cytokinesis by forming the Z-ring. This ring acts as a scaffold to recruit other division proteins and guide the synthesis of septal peptidoglycan, which leads to cell constriction. In its native state, the FtsZ protein from Escherichia coli (EcFtsZ) is a multi-oligomer comprising dimers, trimers, tetramers, and hexamers in a dynamic self-association equilibrium depending on its concentration.

BG is a novel bioactive peptide derived from bitter gourd (), known for its anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties. In the present study, our objective is to investigate the functional roles and mechanisms of BG in the context of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). A rat model of adjuvant-induced arthritis (AIA) was established by administering complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA).

Liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) is an intracellular process widely used by cells for many key biological functions. It occurs in complex and crowded environments, where amino acids (AAs) are vital components. We have found that AAs render the net interaction between proteins more repulsive.

We present a two-phase field model and a hybrid particle-phase field model to simulate dilute colloidal sedimentation and flotation near a liquid-gas interface (or fluid-fluid interface in general). Both models are coupled to the incompressible Stokes equation, which is solved numerically using a combination of sine and regular Fourier transforms to account for the no-slip boundary conditions at the boundaries. The continuum two-phase field model allows us to analytically solve the equilibrium interfacial profile using a perturbative approach, demonstrating excellent agreement with numerical simulations.

In this work we present self-organized regular patterns in a solution system through uphill-diffusion. Micrometer thick organic semiconductor solution is sandwiched between a substrate and cover-plate. Self-assembled regular patterns can be observed on the substrate after solvent evaporation.
