Background And Objective: Asthma-COPD overlap (ACO) is characterized by patients exhibiting features of both asthma and COPD. Currently, there is no specific treatment for ACO. This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic potential of targeting CD131, a shared receptor subunit for IL-3, IL-5 and GM-CSF, in ACO development and in preventing acute viral exacerbations.

B7-H3, an immunomodulatory protein overexpressed in many cancers, is associated with tumor aggressiveness and poor prognosis, making it a crucial target for imaging to elucidate its role in cancer progression and guide therapeutic interventions. This study employed PET imaging to investigate the in vivo delivery and pharmacokinetics of two anti-B7-H3 antibodies, Ab-1 and Ab-2, in mouse xenograft models with varying B7-H3 expression levels. The antibodies were radiolabeled with [Zr]Zr and evaluated through PET imaging, biodistribution studies, and in vitro assays to assess binding, tumor uptake, and retention.

Intravenously administered nanoparticles (NPs) often bind with plasma proteins, forming the protein corona that promotes rapid systemic clearance, a primary challenge in nanomedicine. In this study, we developed a pH- and GSH-sensitive "stealth" nanodelivery system, PTX@NPs-aPD1-IL, for sequential drug release. By using a biocompatible choline-based ionic liquid (IL) as the coating for NPs, the interaction and adsorption of NPs with serum proteins were reduced, achieving targeted delivery to the lung organ and increasing drug accumulation.

Mucus hypersecretion is a trait of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) associated with poorer outcomes. As it may be present before airway obstruction, its early treatment may have a preventive role. This narrative review of the literature presents the role of mucus dysfunction in COPD, its pathophysiology, and the rationale for the use of N-acetylcysteine (NAC).

Background: In developing countries evidences regarding pulmonary hypertension (PH) in rheumatic heart disease (RHD) patients are lacking, despite being responsible for significant morbidity and mortality. As a result, identifying the factors that influence PH is crucial to improve the quality of care.
Objective: To determine prevalence of pulmonary hypertension and its associated factors among rheumatic heart disease patients at the public hospitals of Bahir Dar city, Ethiopia.
