Pure red emission with spectral stability in full iodine-based quasi-2D perovskite films by controlling phase distribution.

Nanoscale

December 2024

School of Physics and Electronics, Key Laboratory for Micro-Nano Physics and Technology of Hunan Province, and College of Materials Science and Engineering, Hunan University, Changsha 410082, China.

Quasi-2D perovskites have emerged as a promising candidate material for displays owing to their high photoluminescence quantum yields and low-cost solution synthesis. However, achieving pure red quasi-2D perovskite films with luminescence centered at 630 nm and a narrow emission band presents a critical challenge for high-definition displays. Herein, by incorporating 18-crown-6 as additives that simultaneously passivate defects and regulate phase distribution, full iodine-based quasi-2D perovskite films with a single red emission peak and spectral stability are designed.

Coordination-Defect-Driven Construction of Responsive Pure-MOF Microspheres for Switchable Mode-Dependent Anticounterfeiting Labels.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

December 2024

Fujian Provincial Key Laboratory of Polymer Materials, College of Chemistry and Materials Science, Fujian Normal University, Fuzhou 350007, China.

Luminescent metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with exceptional dynamics and diverse active sites possess tremendous potential in information security and anticounterfeiting applications. However, traditional MOF systems are based on broadband spectral signals with spectrum overlap, which easily leads to low-resolution signal identification, compromising the overall security level. Here, we report the coordination-defect-induced amorphous pure-MOF microsphere with switchable whispering-gallery-mode (WGM) signals as a mode-dependent security platform.

A chiral agent, TPE-ASP, incorporating aspartic acid as the chiral source and tetraphenylene derivatives as chromophores, was designed and synthesized. The chiral agent was self-assembled into regular spherical nanoparticles with a maximum luminescence asymmetry factor of |2.41 × 10| at 460 nm which is attributed to TPE-ASP.

We report Er emission in YAlO host, sensitized by Cr. The excitation bands of Cr at 416 and 555 nm are broad and effectively cover the region 400-600 nm. The phosphor can be useful for converting 400-600 nm radiations to infrared (IR) light around 1521 nm.

Many industries use copper metal ions (Cu ions), and their salts are utilized as supplemental materials in both agriculture and medicine. Identifying and monitoring these Cu ions in biological and environmental specimens is crucial due to their association with several health issues. In this investigation, we have designed a simple quinoline-based receptor (E)-3-(((2,4-di-tert-butyl-5-hydroxyphenyl)imino)methyl)-6-methoxyquinolin-2(1H)-one (QAP) containing imine functional groups to inspect its capability to identify metal ions in a semi-aqueous medium.
