Vestibular Schwannoma is the most common tumour of Ponto Cerebellar Angle and is capable of strongly impacting the patient's quality of life. In recent decades, the proposals for the management of the disease have multiplied, just as the diagnostic capacity has improved. While in the past, the primary objective was the preservation of the facial function, and subsequently also of the auditory function, the attention to the vestibular symptomatology, which appears to be one of the main indicators of deterioration of quality of life, is still unsatisfactory.

We report a case of a primary intracranial squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the cerebello-pontine angle extending through the internal auditory canal, with the unusual presentation of a completely cystic lesion with no diffusion restriction, internal necrotic-hemorrhagic changes and peripheral enhancement, mimicking a cystic acoustic schwannoma. The lack of diffusion restriction and the peripheral enhancement along the lesion, 2 unique findings, supposedly reflected complete cancerization of the epidermoid cyst from which the SCC originated. We discuss the differential diagnosis and review the literature on primary intracranial SCC.

Introduction: Atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumor (AT/RT) is a highly aggressive embryonal CNS neoplasm, characterized by inactivation of SMARCB1 (INI1) or rarely of SMARCA4 (BRG1). While it is predominantly a childhood tumor, AT/RT is rare in adults.
Methods: We provide a comprehensive systematic review of literature with meta-analysis; 92 adult cases were found from 74 articles.
