Broadband minimalist wireless base stations without energy-consuming electrical power amplifiers are the rosy scenario of the next-generation wireless communication systems. High-power radio-over-fiber (RoF) links, which are featured by large operation bandwidths, are regarded as the supporting technology for realizing such a vision. Nevertheless, the severe signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) deterioration induced by the second Brillouin scattering in high-power and long-distance RoF links must be first solved.

The method relies on a conventional Brillouin optical frequency domain analysis (BOFDA) configuration, with an additional sinusoidal frequency modulation (FM) applied to the pump and probe beams. Such frequency modulation synthetizes a sequence of narrow correlation peaks along the fiber, which are simultaneously interrogated through BOFDA.

The cerebral microvasculature forms a dense network of interconnected blood vessels where flow is modulated partly by astrocytes. Increased neuronal activity stimulates astrocytes to release vasoactive substances at the endfeet, altering the diameters of connected vessels. Our study simulated the coupling between blood flow variations and vessel diameter changes driven by astrocytic activity in the rat somatosensory cortex.

Miniaturized mass spectrometers offer significant potential for in situ analysis due to their high specificity and portability. In traditional data-dependent acquisition (DDA) mode, precursor ions for tandem analysis are selected based on the full-scan mass spectrum. However, in situ applications often require the direct analysis of complex samples without extensive sample pretreatment, making them susceptible to chemical noise that can result in false negatives.

Background: ACKR2 is an atypical chemokine receptor that plays a significant role in regulating inflammation by binding to inflammatory CC chemokines and facilitating their degradation. Previous findings suggest that the genetic absence of ACKR2 leads to heightened tumor growth in inflammation-driven models. Conversely, mice lacking ACKR2 exhibit protection against lung metastasis in melanoma and breast cancer models.
