Cognitive dysfunction is frequently reported in individuals with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), possibly resulting from reduced cerebral blood flow (CBF). We used brain SPECT, an accessible imaging modality that has not been systematically evaluated in this patient group. Purpose: To investigate the effect of preoperative prealbumin levels on long-term survival outcomes after gastrectomy in patients with gastric cancer (GC) dichotomized based on age.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study included consecutive patients who underwent radical gastrectomy for primary stage I-III GC between May 2006 and March 2017. Patients were allocated to groups based on age (≥ 70 or < 70 years) and subgroups based on prealbumin levels (high, ≥ 22 mg/dL; moderate, 15-22 mg/dL; or low, < 15 mg/dL), and multivariate Cox regression was used for survival analyses.

This case report highlights a potential vaccine safety concern associated with the Pseudorabies virus (PRV) live vaccine, which warrants further investigation for comprehensive understanding. Vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT), a novel syndrome of adverse events following adenovirus vector COVID-19 vaccines, was observed after vaccination with Zoetis PR-VAC PLUS. This led to a 100% morbidity and high mortality among PRV-free Danish purebred pigs from Danish Genetics Co.

Oxyntic gland neoplasms typically arise in Helicobacter pylori-naïve stomachs and are composed predominantly of chief cells, with a smaller component of parietal cells. The pathologic diagnosis can be challenging due to minimal cellular atypia. Especially in biopsy specimens with limited tumor volume or when pathologists have limited experience in diagnosing this neoplasm, distinguishing it from normal oxyntic glands can be difficult, and no reliable diagnostic markers are currently available.
