Introduction: Identifying early risks of developing Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a major challenge as the number of patients with AD steadily increases and requires innovative solutions. Current molecular diagnostic modalities, such as cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) testing and positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, exhibit limitations in their applicability for large-scale screening. In recent years, there has been a marked shift toward the development of blood plasma-based diagnostic tests, which offer a more accessible and clinically viable alternative for widespread use.

Background: Reduced Bone Mineral Density (BMD) has been linked to Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection and treatment. There is a lack of information regarding the osteoporosis status of middle-aged patients with HIV in Iran, despite the fact that Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) is widely accessible.
Objective: The purpose of this cross-sectional study was to assess the BMD status and low BMD risk factors in patients with HIV under ART living in Iran.

Mounting evidence suggests that circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) hold diagnostic value in various malignancies. To identify circulating miRNAs for the early diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), we conducted a meta-analysis to evaluate the diagnostic utility of miRNAs in HCC and further validated the results of the meta-analysis. English articles published prior to December 2023 were retrieved from databases including PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science.

Background And Aims: Limited data link manufactured sweeteners impact on metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). We aimed to evaluate the effects of manufactured sugars (L-glucose) compared to natural sugars (D-glucose) on phenotype, molecular and metabolic changes in mice models fed with either regular diet (RD) or high fat diet (HFD).
Methods: C57BL/6 mice fed 16-weeks with either RD; 70% carbohydrate or HFD; 60% fat, with or without additional glucose (Glu, at 18% w/v) to drinking tap water at weeks 8-16; of either natural (D-Glu) or manufactured (L-Glu) sugars.
