Background: The DNA methylation-based epigenetic clocks are increasingly recognized for their precision in predicting aging and its health implications. Although prior research has identified connections between accelerated epigenetic aging and multiple sclerosis, the chronological and causative aspects of these relationships are yet to be elucidated. Purpose: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of fibrin glue in preventing early recurrence of vitreous haemorrhage following surgery for proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR).
Design: Single masked randomized-controlled clinical trial SUBJECTS: Consecutive patients with vitreous haemorrhage due to PDR undergoing primary vitreoretinal surgery were screened. After completing all vitreoretinal manoeuvres including endo-cautery to bleeders, infusion pressure was gradually reduced to 5 mmHg.

Objectives: In rectal cancer surgery, a diverting stoma (DS) is used to prevent severe anastomotic leakage (AL), peritonitis, reoperation, and longer hospitalization. DS creation has increased in the last few decades, without establishment of clear criteria for construction of a DS. Therefore, the goal of the study was to investigate the validity of DS construction based on risk factors for AL, as an approach to reduce the number of stoma creations.
