The author discusses the result that may be expected in clinical medicine from an electro-immunodiffusion method for the detection of alpha-foetoprotein. The samples studied were obtained from pregnant women, patients with liver cell carcinoma or severe digestive diseases, whether malignant or not, and a few amniotic fluids and sera obtained from the umbilical cord. This simple, rapid method is characterized by a sensitivity threshold of about 300 ng/ml and permits one to detect about 75% of cases of liver cell carcinoma.

Methyleugenol (ME) has been classified as a "group 2B carcinogen" by IARC. Its positional isomer methylisoeugenol (MIE) has been considered to be of "generally recognized as safe'' status by FDA. ME was more cytotoxic than MIE in cultured mouse primary hepatocytes.

Purpose: Liver and lung metastases demonstrate distinct biological, particularly immunological, characteristics. We investigated whether preoperative complete blood count (CBC) parameters, which may reflect the immune system condition, predict early dissemination to the liver and lungs in colorectal cancer (CRC).
Methods: In this retrospective single-centre study, we included 268 resected CRC cases with complete 2-year follow-up and analysed preoperative CBC for association with early liver or lung metastasis development.

Purpose: Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are the primary stromal component of the tumor microenvironment in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), affecting tumor progression and post-resection recurrence. Fibroblast activation protein (FAP) is a key biomarker of CAFs. However, there is limited evidence on using FAP as a target in near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence imaging for HCC.

Milk is a multifaceted biofluid that is essential for infant nutrition and development, yet its cellular and bioactive components, particularly maternal milk cells, remain understudied. Early research on milk cells indicated that they cross the infant's intestinal barrier and accumulate within systemic organs. However, due to the absence of modern analytical techniques, these studies were limited in scope and mechanistic analysis.

Ghrelin reduced the profibrotic effect of IHC-Exo in liver fibrosis by regulating lncMALAT1/GPX4 pathway mediated HSCs ferroptosis. Triggering HSCs ferroptosis via GHR-IHC-Exo may become a novel strategy to alleviate the progression of liver fibrosis. Liver fibrosis is the end stage of the continuous progression of a variety of chronic liver diseases.
