Sustainable management of textile industrial wastewater is one of the severe challenges in the current regime. It has been reported that each year huge amount of textile industry discharge especially the dye released into the environment without pre-treatment that adversely affect the human health and plant productivity. In the present study, different bacterial isolates had been isolated from the industrial effluents and investigated for their bioremediation potential against the malachite green (MG) dye, a major pollutant of textile industries.

Salicylic acid mitigates the physiological and biochemistry toxicity of fungicide difenoconazole and reduces its accumulation in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.).

Plant Physiol Biochem

January 2025

Henan Engineering Research Center of Green Pesticide Creation & Intelligent Pesticide Residue Sensor Detection and School of Resources and Environment, Henan Institute of Science and Technology, Xinxiang, Henan, 453003, China. Electronic address:

Continuous misuse of difenoconazole (DFZ) results in farmland contamination, posing risks to crops and human health. Salicylic acid (SA) has been shown to enhance plant resistance and reduce pesticide phytotoxicity and accumulation. However, whether SA effectively reduces DFZ phytotoxicity and accumulation and its underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood.

Application of herbicide-degrading bacteria is an effective strategy to remove herbicide in soil. However, the ability of bacteria to degrade a herbicide is often severely limited in the presence of other pesticide. In this study, the atrazine-degrading strain Klebsiella varicola FH-1 and acetochlor-degrading strain Bacillus Aryabhatti LY-4 were used as parent strains to construct the recombinant RH-92 strain through protoplast fusion technology.

Plants are increasingly exposed to stress-induced factors, including heavy metals. Zinc, although it is a microelement, at high concentrations can be phytotoxic to plants by limiting their growth and development. The presented research confirmed the inhibition effect of Zn on morphological and physiological parameters in barley plants.
