Purpose: The purpose of this study was to detect the distribution of different lectin receptors in primary cancer cells as well as in the case of metastasis, as these biomolecules can potentially predict cancer development in certain tissues and systems.
Methods: To detect lectin receptors in tumors, the authors used conjugates of lectins purified by affinity chromatography with peroxidase, and studied their localization in paraffin sections of 12 cases of primary cancer and 33 of its metastases.
Result: In primary cancers and their metastases, there is a distinct mosaicity in the histotopography of individual lectins, especially peanut and soybean lectin.

Marfan syndrome (MFS) is a hereditary condition accompanied by disorders in the structural and regulatory properties of connective tissue, including elastic fibers, due to a mutation in the gene encodes for fibrillin-1 protein (FBN1 gene) and the synthesis of abnormal fibrillin-1 glycoprotein. Despite the high potential of mast cells (MCs) to remodel the extracellular matrix (ECM), their pathogenetic significance in MFS has not been considered yet. The group of patients with Marfan syndrome included two mothers and five children (three girls aged 4, 11, and 11 and two boys aged 12 and 13).

Objective: To describe the clinical and sonographic characteristics of benign, retroperitoneal, pelvic peripheral-nerve-sheath tumors (PNSTs).
Methods: This was a retrospective study of patients with a benign, retroperitoneal, pelvic PNST who had undergone preoperative ultrasound examination at a single gynecologic oncology center between 1 January 2018 and 31 August 2022. All ultrasound images, videoclips and final histological specimens of benign PNSTs were reviewed side-by-side in order to: describe the ultrasound appearance of the tumors, using the terminology of the International Ovarian Tumor Analysis (IOTA), Morphological Uterus Sonographic Assessment (MUSA) and Vulvar International Tumor Analysis (VITA) groups, following a predefined ultrasound assessment form; describe their origin in relation to nerves and pelvic anatomy; and assess the association between their ultrasound features and histotopography.

The forensic evidence of hanging is based on the autopsy demonstration of the traces left by the noose or the ligature on the neck, as well as on the histological assessment of the hanging mark vitality. However, the specific topography of haemorrhagic infiltration in the context of the cervical damaged tissues involved in hanging is not known. We carried out an extensive microscopic examination to identify if haemorrhagic infiltration in hanging appeared in specific topographic locations that could have been considered as elective.

Analysis of liver matrix studies makes it obvious that knowledge about the connective tissue skeleton of the liver is not systematized, the terminology is contradictory, and the question of the construction of some components sometimes causes controversy. We set a goal to study the features of the construction of the connective tissue matrix of the liver of various mammals and birds in order to identify and systematize general and specific patterns of this structure. The liver of mammals with a gallbladder (pigs, sheep) and without a gallbladder (rats) and birds (domestic chickens with a gallbladder) was studied by the methods of anatomical preparation, histology, histochemistry, histotopography, immunohistochemistry, scanning electron microscopy of corrosion replicas and fluorescence microscopy.
