Background: This study aimed to compare the incidence of bleeding using two periodontal treatment protocols in patients with recent Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS).

Material And Methods: This is an interim analysis of a double-blind controlled clinical trial evaluating two periodontal treatment schemes in patients with recent ACS treated with different dual antiplatelet regimens: Clopidogrel+ASA, Prasugrel+ASA and Ticagrelor+ASA. After randomisation six patients (22 quadrants) were treated with Scheme A (scaling and root planning-SRP) and six patients (21 quadrants) with Scheme B (ultrasonic scaling-US).

Detection and Successful Treatment of Gunshot Wound to the Femoral Artery and Vein Four Days Post-incident: A Case Study.

This case study presents the successful treatment of a 26-year-old male who experienced profuse bleeding from a gunshot wound to his thigh 4 days after the initial injury. The patient underwent surgery performed by a military vascular surgeon, during which previously undetected injuries to the femoral artery and vein were identified. The surgeon conducted a femoral artery alloprosthesis and sutured the damaged femoral vein.

Although rare, penetrating cervical vascular injury poses significant challenges with a poor patient prognosis, often attributed to severe hemorrhage and accompanying injuries. We encountered a case of hemorrhagic shock resulting from a penetrating injury to the common carotid artery (CCA), which was successfully managed using a combination of endovascular therapy and direct surgical intervention. A 23-year-old man presented with a self-inflicted stab wound on the left side of his neck from a kitchen knife.

Parastomal varices are an uncommon but significant source of hemorrhage in patients with portal hypertension, often posing diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. We report the case of a 73-year-old male with a history of alcoholic liver disease and a urostomy following cystoprostatectomy for bladder cancer. The patient presented with profuse bleeding from his urostomy site.
