Background: Several studies suggested the genetic association between IL10RA variants and susceptibility to Behcet's disease (BD). However, the precise mechanism of the association is still unknown. The purpose of this study was to investigate the mechanism underlying the genetic associations between IL10RA polymorphisms and the risk of BD.

For the first time asymmetric and symmetric carboxytriazoleimidazolium derivatives with different structures were synthesized. The critical micellization concentration (CMC) value was estimated using a pyrene fluorescent probe and the solubility of Orange OT. The complexation ability of carboxytriazoleimidazolium derivatives toward bovine serum albumin (BSA) has been investigated by various physico-chemical methods: fluorescence spectroscopy, electrophoretic light scattering and circular dichroism.

Storage proteins (SPs) are hexameric macromolecular protein, an important component of insect serum protein, which plays a variety of roles in insect metamorphosis and development. However, their regulatory mechanisms remain unclear. Our previous studies revealed that the expression of SPs is regulated by nutritional signals and identified FoxO as a negative regulator of SPs in the silkworm Bombyx mori (B.

Article Synopsis
  • Non-triple helical collagen polypeptides (NTHs) are produced in tumor cells and tissues, lacking the typical collagen structure, and were found in various tumor cell lines and human lung cancer samples.
  • NTH production is influenced by serum concentration and hypoxic conditions, and they may play a role in tumor angiogenesis despite the presence of adequate ascorbic acid.
  • The study indicates that NTH production correlates with the accumulation of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α), but HIF-1α doesn’t directly drive NTH α1(IV) production, suggesting NTHs could be potential therapeutic targets for cancer treatment.

Background: Lipoprotein fractions are reported to be unstable in stored human samples, and there is a paucity of information on the analytical precision of electrophoretic separation of lipoproteins in canine serum samples.

Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the effects of intra- and inter-assay imprecision and of storage conditions on the electrophoretic separation of canine lipoproteins.

Methods: Imprecision was assessed by calculating the coefficient of variation (CV) of five replicates of six serum samples run in two sequential runs of agarose gel lipoprotein electrophoresis.
