Objective: Treatment with transcutaneous osseointegrated prosthesis systems (TOPS) for short femoral amputation stumps aims to restore independent walking ability after proximal femoral amputation by direct bone-guided prosthesis anchorage. This cannot be safely achieved with conventional socket prostheses due to the mechanically inadequate socket contact surface.
Indications: Treatment of patients with short transfemoral stumps who cannot be mobilized sufficiently with conventional socket prostheses.

In recent years, mobile laser measurement systems have markedly enhanced the capabilities of deformation detection and defect identification within metro tunnels, attributed to their superior efficiency, precision, and versatility. Nevertheless, challenges persist, including substantial equipment costs, inadequate after-sales support, technological barriers, and limitations in customization. This paper develops a mobile laser measurement system that has been specifically developed for the purpose of detecting deformation in metro tunnels.

Background: Adequate maternal iodine intake is important for fetal brain development. Based on iodine intakes of non-pregnant females of reproductive age from the Canadian Health Measures Survey (2016 -2017) it can be extrapolated that most pregnant females in Canada will not meet iodine requirements without supplementation.
Objectives: To assess iodine intakes of 500 pregnant, nulliparous females from Québec, Canada and report on use of multivitamin/mineral (MVM) supplements and coverage of iodized salt.

Background: It is estimated that 61% of deaths caused by Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs) globally are attributed to lifestyle-related risk factors including tobacco use, alcohol abuse, poor diet, and inadequate physical activity. Meanwhile, inadequate knowledge and misperceptions about CVDs are disproportionately increasing the prevalence of CVDs in Africa. Moreover, pre-diagnosis awareness/knowledge about CVDs among patients is essential in shaping the extent and scope of education to be provided by healthcare workers.

Although feedback is of high importance for the professional development of student teachers, the impact of (inadequate) feedback on their self-regulated learning is still unclear. In two studies with mathematics student teachers, we investigated how discrepancies between performance and feedback affected two important aspects of self-regulated learning-self-efficacy and self-assessment accuracy regarding mathematical content knowledge. In the first study, = 154 student teachers studying mathematics completed a knowledge test on the Pythagorean theorem and received performance feedback that was either correct or manipulated to be more positive or more negative than actual performance.
