Thirty-nine families with 167 children were typed for HL-A and studied in the MLC test. Two maternal recombinations between the FOUR and the MLC locus in two different families were found. An estimate of the recombination fraction between the FOUR and the MLC locus was calculated.

The efficacy of transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) as a non-invasive method to modulate physiological markers of noradrenergic activity of the Locus Coeruleus (LC), such as pupil dilation, is increasingly more discussed. However, taVNS studies show high heterogeneity of stimulation effects. Therefore, a taVNS setup was established here to test different frequencies (10 Hz and 25 Hz) and intensities (3 mA and 5 mA) during phasic stimulation (3 s) with time-synchronous recording of pupil dilation in younger adults.

The forkhead box O1 (FOXO1) is an important transcription factor related to proliferation, metabolism, and homeostasis, while the major phenotype of FOXO1-null mice is abnormal vascular morphology, such as vessel enlargement and dilation. In in vitro mouse embryonic stem cell (ESC)-differentiation system, Foxo1 vascular endothelial cells (ECs) fail to elongate, and mimic the abnormalities of FOXO1-deficiency in vivo. Here, we identified the PPP1R14C gene as the FOXO1 target genes responsible for elongating using transcriptome analyses in ESC-derived ECs (ESC-ECs), and found that the FOXO1-PPP1R14C-myosin light chain 2 (MLC2) axis is required for EC elongation during angiogenesis.

Chronic stress-induced diarrhea is a common clinical condition, characterized by an abnormal bowel movement and loose stools, which lacks effective treatment in the clinic. Si-Ni-San (SNS) is a compound traditional Chinese medicine extensively used in China for stress-related diarrhea. However, the mechanism is unclear.

The dominant model of childbirth in most Western countries is medicalized childbirth. Women's beliefs about whether childbirth should be a medicalized process to a greater or lesser degree may be related, in addition to contextual factors, to internal factors. The objective of the study is to find out if women's locus of control (LC) and stress coping strategies (CS) are related to having a more favourable or less favourable attitude towards medicalization (ATMC).

Aim: To determine the multileaf collimator positional error (MLC-PE) during volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) delivery by studying the time-dependent MLC velocity in mathematically derivable trajectories such as straight line and conic sections.
Materials And Methods: VMAT delivery is planned in a way that MLCs are moving in a locus which can be defined by mathematical functions such as linear, parabolic, or circular velocity (PV or CV). The VMAT delivery was interrupted either once or multiple times during the delivery and projection images of the same were acquired in electronic portal imaging device.
