Groove pancreatitis (GP) is a chronic segmental pancreatitis which leads to altered pancreatic secretions and pancreatitis. The exact pathogenesis of GP has not been clearly identified to date but heavy smoking and chronic alcohol consumption seem to be the main factors involved. The resulting chronic pancreatitis (CP) is a debilitating disease causing abdominal pain often refractory to medical therapy, so much that the main indication for surgical treatment is intractable abdominal pain.

There are national and international guidelines and developments for the surgery of chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that contribute to better patient care. Important recommendations include increasingly individualized and minimally invasive approaches with the integration of new technologies. The indication for abdominal surgery remains tied to specialization, not least in order to continue to be able to assess the importance of sequential treatment and multimodality in improving surgical results and minimizing risks.

Atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation is associated with a lower likelihood of death and surgical heart failure (HF) interventions in patients with HF. This effect is mainly driven by reduced all cause and cardiovascular death following ablation. Ablation also results in improved left ventricular (LV) function, decreased AF burden and AF regression.

Materials And Methods: 15 TIDM and 15 non-diabetic primiparous women were enrolled in the prospective case-control study. We compared periodontal status, levels of glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), gestational week of birth, birth weight of a newborn and pregnancy or delivery complications between the groups.

Minimally invasive, image-guided endovascular procedures are becoming increasingly prevalent as techniques and technologies have advanced, particularly within the realm of neurovascular interventions. Endovascular approaches ubiquitously result in endothelial injury with subsequent risk of thromboembolic complications. Periprocedural antiplatelet agent use is an integral component of the management of patients undergoing endovascular neurointerventional procedures.
