Pesticide transformation products: a potential new source of interest for drinking water.

Environ Sci Pollut Res Int

January 2025

ANSES, Nancy Laboratory for Hydrology, Water Chemistry Department, 40 Rue Lionnois, 54000, Nancy, France.

Pesticide transformation products (TPs) are frequently quantified in aquatic systems, including surface and groundwater. They often present higher polarity than parent compounds, are less volatile and less biodegradable and are therefore more mobile and persistent. These properties make them compounds of main interest in water resources and drinking water.

Background: Training in complex high-risk indicated percutaneous coronary intervention (CHIP-PCI) has frequently been reserved for established operators (consultants/attending) with trainees (fellows-in-training or FIT) being often discouraged from carrying out such procedures as a primary operator due to their high-risk nature. Whether the outcomes of these cases differ if the primary operator is a supervised FIT compared with a consultant is unknown.

Methods: Using multicentre PCI data from three cardiac centres in South Wales, UK (2018-2022), we identified 2295 CHIP-PCI cases with a UK-BCIS CHIP Score of 3 or more.

Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder (PTLD) poses a serious challenge in kidney transplant recipients. Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-seronegative recipients have a significantly increased risk of PTLD, but few studies have investigated risk factors for PTLD in EBV-seronegative recipients in the current era of immunosuppression. This cohort study from Norway and western Denmark included first-time kidney transplant recipients between 2007-2021, and estimated the cumulative incidence, risk and prognosis of PTLD.
