Background: The use of a high-concentrate diet in fattening camels may have significant effects on growth performance and digestion as well as economic returns. This experiment was designed to study the effects of feeding different levels of concentrate in their diet on growth performance and digestion in a desert climate.

Methods: Eighteen 12-month-old male camel calves were used, and divided into three treatments of six each.

Solution-based affinity assays are used for the selection and characterization of proteins that could be developed into therapeutic molecules. However, these assays have limitations for cell-surface proteins as in most cases their purification requires detergent solubilization and are unlikely to assume conformations in solution that resemble their native states in cell membranes. This report describes a novel electrochemiluminescence-based method, called MSD-CAT, for the affinity analysis of antibodies binding to cell-surface receptors.

Stay-green sorghum varieties are known for their drought resistance and ability to retain green biomass during grain filling, making them crucial for sustainable agriculture in arid regions. However, there is limited information on their stover yield (SY) and nutritional quality when both grain and forage are harvested. This study assessed five stay-green sorghum varieties at the Bako Agricultural Research Centre using a randomized complete block design with three replications in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

Purifying membrane proteins has been the limiting step for studying their structure and function. The challenges of the process include the low expression levels in heterologous systems and the requirement for their biochemical stabilization in solution. The human voltage-gated proton channel (hH1) is a good example of that: the published protocols to express and purify hH1 produce low protein quantities at high costs, which is an issue for systematically characterizing its structure and function.

This study investigated the effects of rumen-degradable starch (RDS) on lactation performance, gastrointestinal fermentation, and plasma metabolomics in dairy cows. Six mid-lactation cows, fitted with rumen, duodenum, and ileum cannulas, were used in a duplicated 3 × 3 Latin square design with 28-day periods. The cows were fed a low RDS (LRDS; 62.
