Objectives: This paper aims to review the immunopathogenesis of Diabetes-associated periodontitis (DPD) and to propose a description of the research progress of drugs with potential clinical value from an immunotherapeutic perspective.
Materials And Methods: A comprehensive literature search was conducted in PubMed, MEDLINE, Embase, Web of Science, Scopus and the Cochrane Library. Inclusion criteria were studies on the association between diabetes and periodontitis using the Boolean operator "AND" for association between diabetes and periodontitis, with no time or language restrictions.

Background: The gut microbiota and microglia play critical roles in Alzheimer's disease (AD), and more information is needed on how specific bacteria affect brain immunity in AD. We found that Bacteroides increased in aging Tg2576 mice and correlated with amyloid-beta (Aβ) plaques and hypothesized that Bacteroides worsens AD pathology by modulating microglia. Bacteroides is also elevated in AD patients and correlates with cerebrospinal fluid levels of Aβ and tau.

Metronidazole (MTZ) is a 5-nitroimidazole compound recognized for its dual anti-bacterial and anti-protozoal properties. Non-approved in many countries for farm medicine, due to a lack of data in the literature, the study aimed to determine its pharmacokinetics (PK) in sheep and goats following intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (SC) administrations. Sheep (n = 5) and goats (n = 5) followed identical study protocols, which involved a two-phase, single-dose (2 mg/kg), cross-over study design with a one-week washout period between treatments.
