Unlabelled: Early identification and intervention of Fournier's gangrene in the Emergency Department (ED) requires a high index of suspicion and is critical in improved patient outcomes. We present a case of a 64-year-old male with two months of progressively worsening buttock and rectal pain found to have extensive black eschar and ecchymosis on exam. In addition, this patient displayed marked leukocytosis, lactic acidosis, and elevated inflammatory markers.

A male patient in his sixties with a long-term history of schizophrenia had been received glycerin enema once or twice a week in a mental hospital. He was emergently transferred to our hospital due to fever, vomiting, hematuria, and dyspnea. Laboratory findings on admission showed an elevation of white blood cells indicating inflammation, hemolysis, and renal dysfunction.

Obturator internus muscle (OIM) abscess occurs rarely in adults. Accurate diagnosis is often hindered and delayed due to the deep location of the abscess and the nonspecific clinical features. Even of rarer occurrence is rupture of the obturator internus muscle abscess into the perirectal space and retroperitoneum causing extensive retroperitoneal necrotizing soft tissue infection.

Objectives: The aim of the present study is to determine the predictive value of Computed Tomography (CT), alone or in combination with serum CA-125 levels, for preoperative staging, detection of the extent of the disease, and surgical complications in patients with ovarian carcinoma.
Material And Methods: One hundred and fourteen patients diagnosed with ovarian carcinoma following an exploratory laparotomy with a preoperative CT scan, performed between January 2007 and June 2013, were enrolled in the study. Preoperative CT and intraoperative surgical findings were compared using 14 parameters and predictions of CT for gas-trointestinal, genitourinary, and cardiovascular complications.

A 62-year-old man was admitted to the medical admissions ward with right thigh pain presumed to be a deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Subsequent duplex ultrasonography excluded a DVT but noted the presence of a significant amount of subcutaneous gas. A plain film radiograph was performed with the same finding raising the possibility of necrotising fasciitis (NF).
