Objective: This study aimed to investigate the effects of nasal obstruction on the coordinated movement of perioral tissues during mastication using a motion capture system.
Design: Twelve healthy adult participants were instructed to chew gum only on their habitual masticatory side for 30 s, with and without nasal obstruction. Nasal obstruction was induced by blocking nasal breathing with a nose clip.

Juvenile scleroderma (JS) is a rare chronic connective tissue disorder characterized by stiffening of the skin and soft tissues, including the oral cavity and perioral tissues, leading to fibrosis and a large spectrum of internal organs involvement, cosmetic defects, and early infant disability. The aim of this study was to investigate the histomorphological features of lesions of oral mucosa tissues in children with juvenile scleroderma (JS). 39 JS patients (9 with juvenile systemic sclerosis - JSS and 20 with juvenile scleroderma of head-JSH aged from 5 to 17 years were observed with dental examination and morphological investigation of the dental mucosa.

Aim And Background: Angioedema is a nonpruritic swelling that typically affects the skin, mucous membranes of the face, and perioral soft tissues. It can be life-threatening, but it is usually not and can be treated conservatively unless the airway is compromised. This paper seeks to illuminate a rare case of hereditary angioedema (HAE) onset following dental procedures in a 9-year-old Indian boy.
