I.C.R.F. 159, a new antitumour agent, has been assessed in six patients with acute leukaemia and three with lymphosarcoma. In all but two there was a considerable fall in circulating primitive cells, and in one there was bone-marrow evidence of a partial remission. Severe toxic effects were seen in only one case; they consisted of alopecia and gastroenteritis. It is suggested that I.C.R.F. 159 is worth further examination in all forms of acute leukaemia and lymphosarcoma.

Doxorubicin (DOX) has been widely used as a cytotoxic chemotherapeutic. However, DOX has a number of side effects, such as myelotoxicity or gonadotoxicity, the most dangerous of which is cardiotoxicity. Cardiotoxicity can manifest as cardiac arrhythmias, myocarditis, and pericarditis; life-threatening late cardiotoxicity can result in heart failure months or years after the completion of chemotherapy.

Robinin is one of the glycosyloxyflavones that has been less explored for its therapeutic application, especially in the field of CVD. Herein, we explored the cardioprotective efficacy of Robinin by using HO and Doxorubicin (DOX) - treated H9c2 cells as an in vitro model. HO and DOX treatment resulted in severe cellular damage to the cardiomyocytes, which was followed by apoptosis.

Importance: Contemporary North American trials for children with Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) have decreased radiation therapy (RT) use and increased pharmacologic cardioprotection but also increased the cumulative doxorubicin dose, making overall treatment consequences for late cardiac toxic effects uncertain.
Objective: To estimate the risk of cardiac toxic effects associated with treatments used in modern pediatric HL clinical trials.
Design, Setting, And Participants: For this cohort study, Fine and Gray models were fitted using survivors in the Childhood Cancer Survivor Study who were diagnosed with HL between January 1, 1970, and December 31, 1999, and were followed for a median of 23.

Apart from cardiotoxicity, the chemotherapeutic agent doxorubicin (DOX) provokes acute and long-term vascular toxicity. Dexrazoxane (DEXRA) is an effective drug for treatment of DOX-induced cardiotoxicity, yet it remains currently unknown whether DEXRA prevents vascular toxicity associated with DOX. Accordingly, the present study aimed to evaluate the protective potential of DEXRA against DOX-related vascular toxicity in a previously-established in vivo and ex vivo model of vascular dysfunction induced by 16 hour (h) DOX exposure.

The cardiotoxicity induced by doxorubicin is dose-dependent. The present study tested the potential cardioprotective effect of Poly ADP Ribose Polymerase (PARP) pathway inhibitor "olaparib" in a mouse model of doxorubicin-induced cardiomyopathy (DOX-CM). Seventy-two male BALB/c mice were randomized into six equal groups; control, DOX-CM, dexrazoxane-treated, and three olaparib-treated groups (5, 10, and 50 mg/kg/day).
