From the time of discovery, CHNHSnI has been a promising candidate in photovoltaics due to its outstanding optoelectronic properties. However, stabilization was not easy to achieve in CHNHSnI-based solar cells. Because CHNHSnI was used as an absorber, its naturally-occurring self-doping property spontaneously modified band alignment, which increased carrier recombination and decreased the efficiency of solar cell gradually.

Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) is a widely used surgery for portal hypertension. In clinical practice, the diameter of the stent forming a shunt is usually selected empirically, which will influence the postoperative portal pressure. Clinical studies found that inappropriate portal pressure after TIPS is responsible for poor prognosis; however, there is no scheme to predict postoperative portal pressure.

Transthyretin (TTR) is a natively tetrameric thyroxine transporter in blood and cerebrospinal fluid whose misfolding and aggregation causes TTR amyloidosis. A rational drug design campaign identified the small molecule tafamidis (Vyndamax) as a stabilizer of the native TTR fold, and this aggregation inhibitor is regulatory agency approved for the treatment of TTR amyloidosis. Here we used cryo-EM to investigate the conformational landscape of this 55 kDa tetramer in the absence and presence of one or two ligands, revealing inherent asymmetries in the tetrameric architecture and previously unobserved conformational states.

This study introduces a novel neuromechanical model employing a detailed spiking neural network to explore the role of axial proprioceptive sensory feedback, namely stretch feedback, in salamander locomotion. Unlike previous studies that often oversimplified the dynamics of the locomotor networks, our model includes detailed simulations of the classes of neurons that are considered responsible for generating movement patterns. The locomotor circuits, modeled as a spiking neural network of adaptive leaky integrate-and-fire neurons, are coupled to a three-dimensional mechanical model of a salamander with realistic physical parameters and simulated muscles.

This paper investigates the historical prohibition of skateboarding in Norway from 1977 to 1989, a unique instance of such a comprehensive ban globally. The study aims to understand the circumstances leading to this ban and the rationale behind it. Two primary explanations emerged around the ban: one from a bureaucratic perspective citing risk management, and the other from skateboarders seeing it as a regulation of their counterculture.
