Climate change, driven by greenhouse gas emissions, has emerged as a pressing global ecological and environmental challenge. Our study is dedicated to exploring the various factors influencing greenhouse gas emissions from animal husbandry and predicting their future trends. To this end, we have analyzed data from China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region spanning from 1978 to 2022, aiming to estimate the carbon emissions associated with animal husbandry in the region.

Herein we report the enantioselective synthesis of 3-allyl-3-hydroxyoxindoles, a core scaffold in a wide range of bioactive molecules, using a Lewis-base catalyst and readily abundant and inexpensive allyltrichlorosilane. This transition-metal-free protocol employs relatively low catalyst loadings of a privileged bispyrrolidine-type scaffold to achieve high yields and enantioselectivities (up to 98% yield and 98:2 er). The total syntheses of the natural products (-)-flustraminol B and (-)-chimonamidine were also successfully carried out using our newly developed method as a key step, highlighting the potential of this method for the efficient and precise synthesis of complex natural products.

Resitting, being offered a 'second chance' at an exam following failure to achieve a passing grade, is both common and stressful in medical school. There is a significant gap in the medical education literature around evidence-based support for resitting medical students. The study explores medical student experiences of resits through a peer-assisted learning programme (PAL) delivered to early years resitting medical students at Imperial College School of Medicine (ICSM) in 2021 and 2022.

Karpagam College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore 641 032 Tamil Nadu, India; The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai 600032 Tamil Nadu, India. Electronic address:

Introduction: Improving the pharmacokinetics of drugs is achieved through nano formulations and the role of natural product in the synthesis of nanomaterials is gaining prominence due to its eco-friendly nature, cost-effectiveness, and demonstrated efficacy. Metal nanoparticles (NPs) derived from Ipomoea aquatica Forsskal have been synthesized and evaluated for their antioxidant and antidiabetic properties towards enhancing the anticancer activity of the plant extracts.

Methodology: Hydroalcoholic extract was obtained from the entire Ipomoea aquatica plant and utilized as a key ingredient in the green synthesis of metal NPs.

Low vitamin D associated with high parathyroid hormone (PTH) is commonly reported in the context of HIV infection. We determined the association between total 25-hydroxyvitamin-D [25(OH)D] and PTH in adolescents living with HIV, in Zambia and Zimbabwe. Adolescents (11-19 years) perinatally-infected with HIV and established on antiretroviral therapy (ART) for ≥6 months were recruited into a cross-sectional study.
