Background: We have previously reported the neuroprotective effects of fosgonimeton in amyloid-β (Aβ)-driven preclinical models of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Fosgonimeton is an investigational small-molecule positive modulator of the neurotrophic hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) system, currently under investigation for mild-to-moderate AD (LIFT-AD; NCT04488419). Given the recent approvals of Aβ-targeting monoclonal antibodies (Aβ-mAbs) for the treatment of AD, and growing recognition that combination therapies may improve treatment outcomes, we sought to investigate the preclinical activity of fosgonimeton in the presence of Aβ-mAbs.

This initiative represents a significant advancement in promoting inclusivity and diversity in clinical trial recruitment, particularly in underserved populations.
Method: The LatAm-FINGERS trial is a multicenter randomized clinical trial evaluating a lifestyle intervention tailored for the Latin American population.
Background: Focused Ultrasound-induced Blood-Brain Barrier Opening (FUS-BBBO) has demonstrated preventative and therapeutic efficacy for improving cognitive and pathological decline in Alzheimer's Disease (AD). Previous work has demonstrated highly specific binding of a novel Re complex (Re-1) complex to amyloid-β (Aβ) in vitro, subsequently inhibiting fibril formation and reducing Aβ-induced cytotoxicity in neuronal cell cultures. The aim of this preliminary study is to evaluate the efficacy of early intervention combining FUS-BBBO and Re-1 for anxiety amelioration and memory improvement in a triple transgenic (3xTg)-AD mouse model.

Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Singapore, Singapore.
Background: Mobile health applications have the potential to enhance dementia care and promote well-being among older adults living independently. This systematic review aims to synthesise and evaluate the existing evidence on the effectiveness of mobile applications developed to improve or maintain cognitive function among older adults diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and dementia.
Method: A systematic search was conducted across major electronic databases, including PubMed, The Cochrane Library, Embase, and PsycInfo, to identify relevant studies published from 2012 to 2023.
Alzheimers Dement

Instituto Peruano de Neurociencias, Lima, Lima, Peru.
Background: Dementia is considered a public health problem due to the exponential increase in cases in recent years, as it not only has an impact on health services, but also affects the social and economic level, especially in low and middle income countries. Evidence has shown that a trained caregiver improves the patient's quality of life, reduces behavioural symptoms and decreases the likelihood of the caregiver developing burnout. Currently scarce research has reported on the level of knowledge of dementia, specifically targeting caregivers in LMIC, that's why we aimed to measure the level of knowledge of caregivers attending to monthly training compared to untrained caregivers.
