Pediatric obesity and the risk of multiple sclerosis: a nationwide prospective cohort study.

Int J Obes (Lond)

January 2025

Division of Pediatrics, Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology, Karolinska Institutet, S-141 57, Huddinge, Sweden.

Background: Emerging evidence implies a link between high pediatric body mass index (BMI) and an increased risk of multiple sclerosis (MS). However, previous research suggests this association is only present for adolescent obesity and not childhood obesity. The present study aimed to assess the association between pediatric obesity and risk of developing MS, and to investigate if degree of obesity and age at obesity treatment initiation affects the risk.

Regulation of circadian gene activity in fibroblasts from ADHD patients through Rosiglitazone: a pilot study.

J Neural Transm (Vienna)

January 2025

Chair of Vascular Neurology, Dementia and Ageing, University Hospital Essen, Essen University Medical School, University of Duisburg-Essen, 45147, Essen, Germany.

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a frequently observed condition, with about 70% of individuals diagnosed with ADHD experiencing irregular sleep-wake patterns. Beyond the primary symptoms of ADHD, there is a significant overlap with sleep-related issues, indicating that disrupted sleep patterns may exacerbate ADHD symptoms. ADHD-related sleep problems can be traced to a delayed circadian rhythm and a later onset of melatonin production.

Initial therapy in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension and cardiovascular comorbidities.

January 2025

INSERM UMR_S 999 « Pulmonary Hypertension: Pathophysiology and Novel Therapies », Hôpital Marie Lannelongue, Le Plessis-Robinson, France

Background: European guidelines recommend initial monotherapy in PAH patients with cardiovascular (CV) comorbidities based on the limited of evidence for combination therapy in this growing population.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on incident PAH patients enrolled in the French Pulmonary Hypertension Registry between 2009 and 2020. Propensity score matching was used to investigate initial dual oral combination therapy oral monotherapy in patients with at least one CV comorbidity (, hypertension, obesity, diabetes and coronary artery disease).

Post-acid modification-enhanced gelation of casein-tamarind seed polysaccharide-based medium internal phase emulsion and its application in 3D printing.

Int J Biol Macromol

January 2025

National Engineering Research Center of Seafood, Collaborative Innovation Center of Provincial and Ministerial Co-construction for Seafood Deep Processing, School of Food Science and Technology, Dalian Polytechnic University, Dalian 116034, PR China. Electronic address:

Printable protein-based medium internal phase emulsions (MIPEs) with low oil fraction have the advantages of reducing the incidence of obesity, coronary heart disease and hypertension. However, the development of printable protein-based MIPEs is still a considerable challenge because reducing oil content will cause phase separation and increase the fluidity of emulsion. In this study, we successfully prepared printable MIPEs (φ = 40 %) inks by co-stabilizing with casein and tamarind seed polysaccharide (TSP) and using post-acid modification technology.
