Genetic variants play a crucial role in shaping the adaptive phenotypes associated with high-altitude populations. Nevertheless, a comprehensive understanding of the specific impacts of different environments associated with increasing altitudes on the natural selection of these genetic variants remains undetermined. Hence, this study aimed to identify genetic markers responsible for high-altitude adaptation with specific reference to different altitudes, majorly focussing on an altitude elevation range of ∼1500 m and a corresponding decrease of ≥5 % in ambient oxygen availability.

The sinocarotid zone (SCZ) of 127 patients with essential hypertension (EH) stage I and II was exposed to electromagnetic millimetric and nanometric waves. Differentiated indications for laser and short-wave-frequency therapy on SCZ in EH have been formulated basing on the postexposure changes in blood pressure, main complaints, central and cerebral hemodynamics, lipid metabolism, blood coagulation.

Impaired functioning of light, brightness, and contrast channels of the visual system was revealed, as well as specific electrophysiological parameters typical of this condition: increased wave a and shortened latent periods of waves a and b on the total ERG, reduced amplitude and a shorter latent period of P-100 peak of visual evoked potential, prolonged latent periods of waves a and b of local ERG, and increased amplitude of waves a and b of L-ERG.
