Objectives: To evaluate the treatment of peri-implant mucositis (PM) using a nonsurgical submarginal peri-implant instrumentation (NSPI) with or without chlorhexidine (CHX) solutions.
Methods: Fifty-six patients (28 per group) were randomly assigned to the test (NSPI + 0.12% mouthwash and subgingival CHX irrigation plus tongue brushing with 1% CHX gel) or the control group (NSPI + placebo mouthwash and subgingival placebo irrigation plus tongue brushing with placebo gel).

Background: Skin is exposed to various environmental factors throughout life, and some of these factors are known to contribute to skin aging. Long-term solar UV exposure is a well-known cause of skin aging, as is cigarette smoke, which contains a number of chemicals. In this study, combined effect of UVA and cigarette sidestream smoke (CSS) on matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) induction was investigated.

In recent decades, annual urban fire incidents, including those involving ancient wooden buildings burned, transportation, and solar panels, have increased, leading to significant loss of human life and property. Addressing this issue without altering the surface morphology or interfering with optical behavior of flammable materials poses a substantial challenge. Herein, we present a transparent, low thickness, ceramifiable nanosystem coating composed of a highly adhesive base (poly(SSS-co-HEMA)), nanoscale layered double hydroxide sheets as ceramic precursors, and supramolecular melamine di-borate as an accelerator.
