Tolerance to the antinociceptive effects of opioids is a major concern. Studies have shown that chronic use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAIDs) causes significant tolerance and cross-tolerance to morphine. Chronic NSAIDs use can increase the risk of certain diseases, such as peptic ulcers, and exacerbate others, like heart failure.

A 23-year-old man was diagnosed with Crohn's disease (CD) of the large intestine after colonoscopy revealed longitudinal ulcers, and pathology revealed non-caseating epithelioid cell granulomas and anal fistulas. The CD relapsed, and therefore prednisolone (PSL) and infliximab (IFX) treatment was initiated. The PSL was gradually tapered.

Background: Restorative proctocolectomy with ileal pouch-anal anastomosis (IPAA) is a common surgical procedure for ulcerative colitis and familial adenomatous polyposis. IPAA strictures are a known complication, often requiring surgical intervention. Endoscopic interventions offer a less invasive alternative, but their safety and efficacy remain uncertain.

Scorpions are a group of arthropods known to be highly toxic to humans. We report the case of a previously healthy 61-year-old male who sustained a sting from an Androctonus crassicauda scorpion to his right eye. The patient was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) in a comatose state immediately after the sting.

Diabetes-related foot osteomyelitis (DFO) can present as an acute condition with soft tissue involvement or as a non-acute form characterized by long-standing ulcers without immediate limb-threatening features. This study evaluates infection relapse and healing times after conservative surgery in non-acute DFO, with a focus on osteomyelitis localization. A retrospective cohort of 60 patients treated for forefoot DFO without soft tissue involvement or necrosis was analyzed.
