TOP2A inhibition and its cellular effects related to cell cycle checkpoint adaptation pathway.

Sci Rep

January 2025

Departamento Biología Experimental, Universidad de Jaén, Paraje Las Lagunillas S/N E23071, Jaén, Spain.

In this study, we investigate the G2 checkpoint activated by chromosome entanglements, the so-called Decatenation Checkpoint (DC), which can be activated by TOP2A catalytic inhibition. Specifically, we focus on the spontaneous ability of cells to bypass or override this checkpoint, referred to as checkpoint adaptation. Some factors involved in adapting to this checkpoint are p53 and MCPH1.

Background: There is indication that the fallopian tubes might be involved in ovarian cancer pathogenesis and their removal reduces cancer risk. Hence, bilateral salpingectomy during hysterectomy or sterilization, so called opportunistic salpingectomy (OS), is gaining wide acceptance as a preventive strategy. Recently, it was discussed whether implementation of OS at other gynecologic surgery, e.

Contribution of rat insular cortex to stimulus-guided action.

J Neurosci

January 2025

Univ. Bordeaux, CNRS, INCIA, UMR 5287, F-33000 Bordeaux, France

Anticipating rewards is fundamental for decision-making. Animals often use cues to assess reward availability and to make predictions about future outcomes. The gustatory region of the insular cortex (IC), the so-called gustatory cortex, has a well-established role in the representation of predictive cues, such that IC neurons encode both a general form of outcome expectation as well as anticipatory outcome-specific knowledge.

States differ significantly in international sports competitions in how they use the resources they have and whether they do so in an efficient manner. In this paper, we investigate the efficiency of the nations from the so-called "Global South", in total 52 states, during the 2000-2024 Summer Olympics. By doing this, our paper is the first using the Bayesian stochastic frontier analysis for exploring the performance of the states of the Global South.

Monitoring and assessing the level of lower limb motor skills using the Biodex System plays an important role in the training of football players and in post-traumatic rehabilitation. The aim of this study was to build and test an artificial intelligence-based model to assess the peak torque of the lower limb extensors and flexors. The model was based on real-world results in three groups: hearing ( = 19) and deaf football players ( = 28) and non-training deaf pupils ( = 46).
