The development of Hypoxia-Inducible Factor Prolyl Hydroxylase Inhibitors (HIFPHIs), such as Roxadustat (ROX), Enarodustat (ENA), Desidustat (DES), Vadadustat (VAD), Molidustat (MOL), and Daprodustat (DAP), has significant effects on anemia in chronic kidney disease. This review presents comprehensive information about the synthesis, pharmacology, and analysis of HIF-PHIs across several matrices. The literature has presented several approaches for quantifying HIF-PHIs in diverse sample matrices.

An Anticancer Bioactive Peptide Combined with Oxaliplatin Inhibited Gastric Cancer Cells and .

Curr Protein Pept Sci

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Medical Cell Biology in Inner Mongolia, Clinical Medical Research Center, Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical University, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia,010050, China.

Background: Gastric cancer has become one of the major diseases threatening human health. This study aimed to investigate the mechanism of an anticancer bioactive peptide (ACBP) combined with oxaliplatin (OXA) on MKN-45, SGC7901, and NCI-N87 differentiated human gastric cancer cells and GES-1 immortalized human gastric mucosal epithelial cells. The therapeutic effect and action mechanism of short-term intermittent ACBP combined with OXA on nude mice with human gastric cancer were also investigated.

Meta-Analysis of the Input and Disposition of Various Dosage Forms of Methylprednisolone in Healthy Subjects Utilizing a Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic Model.

AAPS J

January 2025

Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, State University of New York at Buffalo, 160 Hayes Rd, Buffalo, New York, 14214, USA.

The study quantitatively analyzes and compares the pharmacokinetics (PK) of methylprednisolone (MPL) in humans upon administration of various dosage forms. The PK parameters and profiles of MPL in healthy subjects were collected from 22 literature sources. A minimal physiologically based pharmacokinetic (mPBPK) model consisting of blood and two tissue (lumped liver and kidney, remainder) compartments with nonlinear tissue partitioning was applied to describe MPL disposition.

Background: There are no cures for Alzheimer’s disease (AD), a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by elevation of beta‐amyloid and tau proteins besides neuronal death and causing cognitive impairment. Phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) is a cyclic guanosine monophosphate‐degrading enzyme involved in numerous biological pathways including those relevant to memory formation. PDE5 inhibition offers the potential to attenuate AD progression by acting at the downstream level of beta‐amyloid and tau elevation.

Cancer pain is one of the most common symptoms in patients with advanced cancer. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of the -related gene C (MrgC) receptors on bone cancer pain. Mechanical withdrawal threshold (MWT) and thermal withdrawal latency (TWL) were measured after the inoculation of Walker 256 mammary gland carcinoma cells into the tibia of adult Sprague-Dawley rats.
