, the causative agent of toxoplasmosis, is a protozoan parasite capable of infecting a wide range of hosts, posing significant health risks, particularly to immunocompromised individuals and congenital transmission. Current therapeutic options primarily target the active tachyzoite stage but are limited by issues such as toxicity and incomplete efficacy. As a result, there is an urgent need for alternative therapies that can selectively target parasite-specific mechanisms critical for metabolic processes and host-parasite interactions.

Objective: Ichthyosis are complex skin diseases, characterized by hyperkeratosis with various degrees of thickening, desquamation, and erythema. The prenatal diagnosis of ichthyosis is challenged due to the clinical and genetic heterogeneity and the late-onset of fetal features on ultrasound scan. Here, we reported two fetuses with Harlequin ichthyosis (HI), a severe subtype of autosomal recessive congenital ichthyosis (ARCI), who were diagnosed prenatally by images and genetic investigations.

The Cayo Santiago rhesus macaque colony is a renowned primate population that has experienced significant natural and anthropogenic ecological variation in their 85-year history. Demographic and familial information is also tracked and collated for the majority of monkeys. Thus, the health history of rhesus macaques at Cayo Santiago should reflect the impacts of both environmental and genetic factors.
