Purpose: To evaluate levels of 3 tear-soluble neuropeptides in dry eye patients and to identify the correlations with clinical signs and symptoms.
Methods: A total of 16 dry eye patients and 12 healthy volunteers were enrolled. Dry eye disease (DED) diagnosis was based on the 2017 Report of the Tear Film & Ocular Surface Society International Dry Eye Workshop (TFOS DEWS II).

Aim: It was the aim of this study to compare two different dry reverse micelle (RM) preparation methods for the incorporation of hydrophilic drugs into oral self-emulsifying drug delivery systems (SEDDS).
Methods: Cationic ethacridine lactate, anionic fluorescein sodium salt and the antibiotic peptide bacitracin were solubilized in RM containing sodium docusate, soy phosphatidylcholine and sorbitan monooleate in highly lipophilic oils such as squalane. In the dry addition (DA) method, drugs were directly added to empty RM in their powder form.

Aim: Members of the claudin protein family are the major constituents of tight junction strands and determine the permeability properties of the paracellular pathway. In the kidney, each nephron segment expresses a distinct subset of claudins that form either barriers against paracellular solute transport or charge- and size-selective paracellular channels. It was the aim of the present study to determine and compare the permeation properties of these renal paracellular ion channel-forming claudins.

An aqueous solution of a common food dye, Fast Green FCF (FG), mimics cholyl-lysyl-fluorescein to visualize embryonic bile flow via single peritoneal injection into intrauterine mouse embryos. Despite its efficacy in embryos, its suitability for adult mice and small to medium-sized mammals remained uncertain. In this study, we investigated FG cholangiography in adult mice, dogs, and goats.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is an important component of the skin's extracellular matrix, and its degradation leads to wrinkles. Hyaluronan-binding protein involved in hyaluronan depolymerization (HYBID) is the main factor responsible for HA degradation in dermis. This study aimed to identify natural plant materials that can effectively suppress HYBID expression and protect HA from degradation.
