Nitrate reduction requires reducing equivalents produced by the photosynthetic electron transport chain. Therefore, it has been suggested that nitrate assimilation provides a sink for electrons under high light conditions. We tested this hypothesis by monitoring photosynthetic efficiency and the chloroplastic glutathione redox potential (chl-E) of plant lines with mutated glutamine synthetase 2 (GS2) and ferredoxin-dependent glutamate synthase 1 (GOGAT1).

Background: Irrespective of baseline diabetes status, preoperative hemoglobin A1c (A1C) influences perioperative care in patients undergoing metabolic and bariatric surgery (MBS). Accordingly, the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) endorses that patients undergoing MBS should receive a preoperative A1C test. Background: Patients with estrogen receptor (ER)-positive breast cancer (BC) can be treated with endocrine therapy targeting ER, however, metastatic recurrence occurs in 25% of the patients who have initially been treated. Secreted proteins from tumors play important roles in cancer metastasis but previous methods for isolating secretory proteins had limitations in identifying novel targets.
