The current treatment of radiation-induced skin wounds utilizes mainly conventional therapies, including topical steroids, creams, ointments, and hydrogel dressings, which do not take into account the immunologic changes that occur in the skin after radiation exposure. Therefore, it is relevant to consider alternative therapies and their impact on changes in the immune landscape of the skin. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of allogeneic minimally manipulated keratinocytes and fibroblasts on rat skin repair and the development of immune responses.

Utilizing high-resolution microscopy in conjunction with a new antibody highly specific for rat alpha4 Na,K-ATPase, we describe changes in alpha4 expression during spermatogenesis and in sperm incubated under capacitating and noncapacitating conditions. Immunohistochemical analyses showed alpha4 expression at low levels in spermatogonia and in pachytene spermatocytes. Alpha4 then becomes highly expressed on round spermatids and the midpiece of elongated spermatozoa within the seminiferous tubules.

Background: Hypoxemia can cause secondary acute brain injury, but the mechanisms behind it are not entirely clear and could involve disturbances in the brain extracellular fluids. We aimed to explore the effects of hypoxemia on the choroid plexus (CPs) and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) system in rats.

Methods: Male Sprague Dawley rats were kept in O control in vivo cabinet with either 21% (normoxia) or 8% O (hypoxemia) for up to 48 h.
