While individual cases of infectious colitis are not rare, co-infections involving multiple opportunistic organisms are uncommon. Here, we present an AIDS patient with concurrent opportunistic gastrointestinal infections resulting in symptomatic infectious colitis.

Background: The paper describes the first documentary evidence of intestinal histoplasmosis in Indian goats.

Case Description: A goat flock in delta region of Tamil Nadu with a report of mortality of eight animals with the history of inappetence, constipation, tenesmus and hematochezia. Three goat carcasses were presented for necropsy.

Granulomas consist of focal collections of immune cells that forms as a result of chronic inflammation. They can be formed in different organs and are considered the hallmark for several inflammatory and infectious diseases. The presence of granulomas in the mucosal biopsies of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract of immunocompetent patients, along with histological features of chronicity, confirms the diagnosis of Crohn's disease (CD) in the majority of cases.
