Background: Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a deadly disease without effective non-invasive diagnostic and prognostic testing. It remains unclear whether vasodilators reverse inflammatory activation, a part of PAH pathogenesis. Single-cell profiling of inflammatory cells in blood could clarify these PAH mechanisms.

Intrapancreatic fat deposition (IPFD) has garnered increasing attention in recent years. The prevalence of IPFD is relatively high and associated with factors such as obesity, age, and sex. However, the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying IPFD remain unclear, with several potential contributing factors, including oxidative stress, alterations in the gut microbiota, and hormonal imbalances.

Recent evidence links gut microbiota alterations to neurodegenerative disorders, including Parkinson's disease (PD). Replenishing the abnormal composition of gut microbiota through gut microbiota-based interventions "prebiotics, probiotics, synbiotics, postbiotics, and fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT)" has shown beneficial effects in PD. These interventions increase gut metabolites like short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), which may protect dopaminergic neurons via the gut-brain axis.

Diabetic kidney disease (DKD), a microvascular complication of diabetes mellitus, represents a significant clinical challenge. This study investigated the reno-protective effects of dulaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA) widely used in the management of diabetes, and aimed to elucidate its underlying mechanisms. Mice with db/db and db/m genotypes were allocated into four experimental groups and treated with either dulaglutide or a saline control for 10 weeks.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a prevalent sleep disorder marked by repeated episodes of partial or complete upper airway obstruction during sleep, which leads to intermittent hypoxia and fragmented sleep. These disruptions negatively impact cardiovascular health, metabolic function, and overall quality of life. Obesity is a major modifiable risk factor for OSA, as it contributes to both anatomical and physiological mechanisms that increase the likelihood of airway collapse during sleep.
