Introduction: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a global health concern with significant short and long-term complications for both mother and baby. Early prediction of GDM, particularly late-onset, is crucial for implementing timely interventions to mitigate adverse outcomes. In this study, we conducted a comprehensive metabolomic analysis to explore potential biomarkers for early GDM prediction.

We hypothesized that adaptations in metabolic pathways underlie these associations and examined associations of metabolite profiles at birth with childhood cardio-metabolic risk factors.
Methods: The study included 763 mother-child pairs participating in an ongoing population-based prospective cohort study with an overall low disease risk.

Hypothesis: Monodisperse phospholipid-coated microbubbles, with a size and resonance frequency tuned to the ultrasound driving frequency, have strong potential to enhance sensitivity, efficiency, and control in emerging diagnostic and therapeutic applications involving bubbles and ultrasound. A key requirement is that they retain their gas volume and shell material during physiologic pressure changes and withstand the overpressure during intravenous injection. The shell typically comprises a mixture of a phospholipid (e.

Background: Herpes simplex keratitis (HSK) is a recurrent inflammatory disease of cornea primarily initiated by type I herpes simplex virus infection of corneal epithelium. However, early diagnosis of HSK remains challenging due to the lack of specific biomarkers. This study aims to identify biomarkers for HSK through tear metabolomics analysis between HSK and healthy individuals.

The distribution and bioaccumulation of environmental pollutants are essential to understanding their toxicological mechanism. However, achieving spatial resolution at the subtissue level is still challenging. Perfluorooctanesulfonate (PFOS) is a persistent environmental pollutant with widespread occurrence.
