Objective: To assess the performance of pembrolizumab for the treatment of Gestational Trophoblastic Neoplasia (GTN).
Methods: The Medical Subject Headings related to immunotherapy/pembrolizumab and GTN were used alone or in combination to retrieve relevant articles. The authors searched in EMBASE, MEDLINE/PubMed, Elsevier's Scopus, and Web of Science until November/2024.

Choriocarcinoma is a rare, aggressive gestational trophoblastic disorder with metastatic potential, often presenting with abnormal bleeding and increasing levels of beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (b-hCG). Diagnosis is confirmed through histopathologic examination after curettage, and treatment typically involves stage-dependent chemotherapy. This case report concerns a 25-year-old woman with heavy postpartum bleeding, later diagnosed with choriocarcinoma.

Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) refers to malignant diseases originating from placental trophoblast cells. Despite high complete remission rates with standard treatments, the adverse effects of chemotherapy, variation in treatment regimens, and the psychological impact on patients significantly influence the prognosis. This study aims to identify factors influencing the time to serum human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) negativization, thereby contributing to the optimization of patient management strategies.
