Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) derived materials are extensively utilized in wastewater treatment owing to their remarkable catalytic efficacy and durability. This study exploited iron-cerium-based bimetallic metal-organic framework (FeCe-MOF) as a sacrificial template, which was subsequently calcined at 700 °C to produce an iron-cerium-based bimetallic carbon nanospheres (FeCe@C). The FeCe@C has active sites of bimetallic Fe and Ce derivatives, demonstrating exceptional activation efficiency for persulfate, resulting in approximately 98.

Cyclodextrin metal-organic frameworks (CD-MOFs) with infinitely extensible network structures show potential applications in lithium metal batteries. However, the disordered accumulation of CD-MOF particles leads to slow interparticle diffusion of ions, so the CD-MOF composite electrolytes are needed to be developed. In addition, the influences of CD-MOFs structure on the electrochemical performance of the composite electrolytes remains unclear.

The development of earth-abundant oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalysts with high activity and durability is critical for replacing noble-metal-based catalysts in the applications of scalable water electrolysis. A freestanding electrode architecture offers significant advantages over conventional coated powder forms due to enhanced kinetics and stability. Ofloxacin, a commonly prescribed antibiotic, raises serious environmental concerns due to its persistence in aquatic systems. This study offers new insights into the environmental behavior of ofloxacin and its interactions with carbon-based adsorbents with the aim of enhancing our understanding of its removal mechanisms via adsorption processes. Using a comprehensive computational approach, we analyzed the speciation, pK values, and solubility of ofloxacin across various pH conditions, accounting for all four microspecies, including the often-overlooked neutral form.
