Creativity is hypothesized to arise from a mental state which balances spontaneous thought and cognitive control, corresponding to functional connectivity between the brain's Default Mode (DMN) and Executive Control (ECN) Networks. Here, we conduct a large-scale, multi-center examination of this hypothesis. Employing a meta-analytic network neuroscience approach, we analyze resting-state fMRI and creative task performance across 10 independent samples from Austria, Canada, China, Japan, and the United States (N = 2433)-constituting the largest and most ethnically diverse creativity neuroscience study to date.

Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) is an emerging field in AI that aims to address the opaque nature of machine learning models. Furthermore, it has been shown that XAI can be used to extract input-output relationships, making them a useful tool in chemistry to understand structure-property relationships. However, one of the main limitations of XAI methods is that they are developed for technically oriented users.

Magnetic resonance imaging and circulating molecular testing are potential methods for diagnosing and treating Parkinson's disease (PD). However, their relationships remain insufficiently studied. Using genome-wide association summary statistics, we found in the general population a genetic negative correlation between white matter tract mean diffusivity and PD (-0.

Our naturalistic experiences are organized into memories through multiple processes, including novelty encoding, memory formation, and retrieval. However, the neural mechanisms coordinating these processes remain elusive. Using fMRI data acquired during movie viewing and subsequent narrative recall, we examine hippocampal neural subspaces associated with distinct memory processes and characterized their relationships.

This paper investigates the optimal fixed-time tracking control problem for a class of nonstrict-feedback large-scale nonlinear systems with prescribed performance. In the process of optimal control design, the new critic and actor neural network updating laws are proposed by adopting the fixed-time technique and the simplified reinforcement learning algorithm, which both guarantee the simplified optimal control algorithm and accelerate the convergence rate. Furthermore, the prescribed performance method is contemplated simultaneously, which ensures tracking errors can converge within the prescribed performance bounds in fixed time.
