Comprehensive two-dimensional liquid chromatography (LCxLC) represents a valuable alternative to conventional single column, or one-dimensional, liquid chromatography (1D-LC) for resolving multiple components in a complex mixture in a short time. However, developing LCxLC methods with trial-and-error experiments is challenging and time-consuming, which is why the technique is not dominant despite its significant potential. This work presents a novel shortcut model to in-silico predicting retention time and peak width within an RPLCxRPLC separation system (i.

In order to solve the problem of limited linearity and frame rate in the large array infrared (IR) readout integrated circuit (ROIC), a high-linearity and high-speed readout method based on adaptive offset compensation and alternating current (AC) enhancement is proposed in this paper. The efficient correlated double sampling (CDS) method in pixels is used to optimize the noise characteristics of the ROIC and output CDS voltage to the column bus. An AC enhancement method is proposed to quickly establish the column bus signal, and an adaptive offset compensation method is used at the column bus terminal to eliminate the nonlinearity caused by the pixel source follower (SF).

Continuous bioprocessing holds the potential to improve product consistency, accelerate productivity, and lower cost of production. However, switching a bioprocess from traditional batch to continuous mode requires surmounting business and regulatory challenges. A key regulatory requirement for all biopharmaceuticals is virus safety, which is assured through a combination of testing and virus clearance through purification unit operations.

A simple method was developed to separate Pu and Am using single column extraction chromatography employing N,N,N',N'-tetra-n-octyldiglycolamide (DGA) resin. Isotope dilution measurements of Am and Pu were performed using accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) and alpha spectrometry. For maximum adsorption Pu was stabilized in the tetra valent oxidation state in 8M HNO3 with 0.

The physical basis for using a probe-position integrated cross section (PICS) for a single column of atoms as an effective way to compare simulation and experiment in high-angle annular dark-field (HAADF) scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) is described, and the use of PICS in order to make quantitative use of image intensities is evaluated. It is based upon the calibration of the detector and the measurement of scattered intensities. Due to the predominantly incoherent nature of HAADF STEM, it is found to be robust to parameters that affect probe size and shape such as defocus and source coherence.
