Key Clinical Message: Constrictive Pericarditis is a rare fibrotic conversion of the pericardium that results in non-specific clinical symptoms such as hepatomegaly, ascites, pleural effusions, and lower extremity edema. A multi-modal diagnostic approach with cardiac imaging tools, cardiac hemodynamic measurements, and tissue biopsy can be used to diagnose Constrictive Pericarditis.
Abstract: Constrictive Pericarditis is a rare complication resulting in the fibrotic conversion of the pericardium secondary to idiopathic, infective, post-surgical, or post-radiation etiologies.

Introduction: To determine the proportion of radiationinduced pneumonitis and pericarditis in patients who have received Hypo-fractionated Radiation along with simultaneous integrated boost technique after breast conservative surgery using a prospective observational study from a tertiary hospital.
Materials & Methods: The incidence of radiationinduced pneumonitis and pericarditis was evaluated in all adult patients with biopsy-proven early-stage unilateral breast cancer who underwent breast-conserving surgery followed by hypo-fractionated radiation with a simultaneous integrated boost technique. Baseline assessments including a six-minute walk test, highresolution computed tomography (HRCT), pulmonary function tests (PFTs), electrocardiography (ECG) and echocardiography (ECHO) were performed.

Radiation therapy is a key part of treatment for many cancers. Vast advancements in the field of radiation oncology have led to a decrease in malignancy-related mortality, which has uncovered some of the long-term side effects of radiation therapy. Specifically, there has been an increase in research looking into the cardiovascular side effects of chest radiation therapy for cancers of the esophagus, breast, and lung tissue as well as lymphomas.

Objective: Constrictive pericarditis (CP) is a rare disease, and the diagnosis and surgical treatment of CP remain challenging. The aim of this study was to evaluate our Japanese single-center experience with isolated pericardiectomy for CP to elucidate the factors associated with improved outcomes.
Methods: Over a 20-year period, 44 consecutive patients underwent isolated pericardiectomy at our institution.
