Burapha University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Department of Psychology Thailand Department of Psychology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Burapha University, Thailand.

Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) has been recognized as a window of opportunity for therapeutic and preventive measures to slow cognitive decline. The current study investigated the efficacy of the virtual reality (VR) cognitive-based intervention on verbal and visuospatial short-term memory (STM), executive functions (EFs), and wellbeing among older adults with and without MCI. The immersive VR cognitive-based intervention comprised eight 60-minute sessions, held twice a week over a span of 30 days.

In-silico-based lead optimization of hit compounds targeting mitotic kinesin Eg5 for cancer management.

In Silico Pharmacol

January 2025

Phyto-medicine and Computational Biology Laboratory, Department of Biochemistry, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State Nigeria.

Unlabelled: Lead optimization is vital for turning hit compounds into therapeutic drugs. This study builds upon a prior in silico research, where the hit compounds had better binding affinity and stability compared to a reference drug. Using a genetic algorithm, 12,500 analogs of the top compounds from the prior study were generated.

ssDNA Capture Dynamics by Graphene Nanopores: The Role of Electrophoresis and Electro-osmotic Flow.

J Phys Chem Lett

January 2025

School of Chemical Engineering and Light Industry, Guangdong University of Technology, Guangzhou 510006, People's Republic of China.

Efficient capture of single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) is crucial for high-throughput sequencing, which influences the speed and accuracy of genetic analysis. Electrophoresis (EP) and electro-osmotic flow (EOF) have a significant impact on the translocation behavior of ssDNA through the nanopore. Experimentally, dynamically tracking these two effects remains challenging, and conventional numerical methods also struggle to capture their dynamic properties in the presence of DNA.
