[Early brain damage and neurotic reactions in children and adolescents].

Psychiatr Neurol Med Psychol Beih

Published: January 1986

The neurotic reactions in 51 children and adolescents, without clearly marked disturbances in the character and intellect have been studied, in whom some data were found of having had an early brain lesions. The character of the early lesions, the clinical picture of the neurotic reactions and their courses have been discussed. The higher liability to psychic traumas in such children is connected with a residual insufficiency of the formations, which secure optimal conditions for activity of the brain, as well as with slight disturbances in the character and intellect. It is stated that it is necessary for such children to be put under systematic observation.
