Regulated sequential exocytosis of neutrophil granules is essential in orchestrating the innate immune response, while uncontrolled secretion causes inflammation. We developed and characterized Nexinhib20, a small-molecule inhibitor that targets azurophilic granule exocytosis in neutrophils by blocking the interaction between the small GTPase Rab27a and its effector JFC1. Its therapeutic potential has been demonstrated in several pre-clinical models of inflammatory disease.

Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) are essential bone extracellular matrix molecules that regulate osteoblast differentiation. Numerous studies have explored endogenous and exogenous GAG osteoanabolic activities using appropriate in vitro and in vivo models. However, GAGs' underlying the mechanism of action and structure-function relationships need to be elucidated in detail.

Although microfocused ultrasound with visualization (MFU-V) and calcium hydroxylapatite- carboxymethylcellulose (CaHA-CMC) have their individual strengths and have demonstrated effectiveness in aesthetic improvement and improving skin laxity, a combined treatment may sometimes be required to achieve comprehensive aesthetic enhancements that meet patients' needs and preferences. This review systematically summarizes the available evidence on combined MFU-V and CaHA-CMC treatment. A comprehensive search was conducted in Embase, MEDLINE ALL (Ovid), Web of Science Core Collection, and Cochrane Central.

Self-transmissible IncC plasmids rapidly spread multidrug resistance in many medically important pathogens worldwide. A large plasmid of this type (pIP1202, ~80 Kb) has been isolated in a clinical isolate of , the agent of plague. Here, we report that pIP1202 was highly stable in infected mice and fleas and did not reduce virulence in these animals.

Recent research has shown that Avocado-Soybean Unsaponifiables (ASU) greatly reduce the symptoms of osteoarthritis (OA). It's yet unknown exactly how ASU works, however, it has been demonstrated to have analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. These qualities can potentially lessen the need for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs) and their secondary effects.
