Objective: Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy (SLNB) is an important management tool for early-stage melanoma. Different radiopharmaceuticals are used internationally to localise the sentinel node using lymphoscintigraphy (LSG) before surgery. Recent reports have suggested that a delayed interval between LSG and SLNB using Tc-labelled nanocolloid tracer has an adverse survival impact, but not with Tc-labelled antimony sulphide colloid.

Radiopharmacy staff members are subject to extremity radiation doses, particularly to the fingertips. Dosemeters, such as, thermoluminescent detectors (TLDs) are currently used for monitoring fingertip doses. This study aimed to use real-time dosemeters to monitor radiopharmacy extremity doses to identify specific procedural steps associated with higher fingertip doses and, subsequently, reduce dose through promotion of optimised radiation protection practises.

Article Synopsis
  • Wild-type transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis (ATTRwt-CA) is a progressive heart disease marked by thickening of the heart walls and is frequently linked to monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS).
  • A case study is presented involving a 72-year-old man with ATTRwt-CA and M-protein who developed deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and severe left ventricular hypertrophy.
  • The diagnosis was confirmed through various tests, including heart scans and a biopsy, highlighting the importance for clinicians to recognize the connection between ATTRwt-CA, M-protein, and the risk of thrombotic events like DVT.

Unlabelled: Hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis is autosomal dominant and results from mutations in the transthyretin gene. The Val30Met variant is the most common genetic mutation, although mutations vary within populations. More than 150 mutations in transthyretin have been reported; however, the Leu111Glu (p.

Despite enormous advancements in its management, cancer is the world's primary cause of mortality. Therefore, tremendous strides were made to produce intelligent theranostics with mitigated side effects and improved specificity and efficiency. Thus, we developed a pH-sensitive theranostic platform composed of dextran immobilized zinc oxide nanoparticles, loaded with doxorubicin and radiolabeled with the technetium-99m radionuclide (Tc-labelled DOX-loaded ZnO@dextran).
